Getting started
How do I get a quote?
WhatsApp us a photo of the equipment's nameplate and describe the problem. We'll give you first advice. You'll get an exact quote after inspection.
Do you charge for inspection?
Inspection is free if you go ahead with the repair. If you decide not to proceed, an inspection fee applies, depending on the size of the motor.
What are your business hours?
Monday to Friday 9 am–5 pm, Saturday 9 am–12 pm, closed on Sunday. You can WhatsApp us anytime, and we reply during business hours.
Service area
Where are you located?
We're based in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur. We don't have a walk-in shop, because we come to you.
Which areas do you cover?
On-site inspection and pickup across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (Klang Valley), including Cheras, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Seri Kembangan, Serdang, Kajang, Bangi and Semenyih, in Negeri Sembilan (Seremban and Nilai), and in Ipoh (Perak). We also take jobs in every other state of Malaysia on request, from Johor, Penang and Pahang to Sabah and Sarawak.
Do you repair on the spot?
We inspect on-site. Most repairs, especially rewinding, need proper equipment, so we take the equipment back, repair and test it, then return it and reinstall it if you need us to.
Repairs
What equipment do you repair?
AC and DC electric motors (0.18–2000 HP), traction DC motors, generators, transformers, induction coils, reactors, lifting magnets, magnetic coils, high-tension equipment, gearboxes and gear reducers, inverters (VFDs), geared brake motors, magnetic clutches and brakes, and variators.
Which brands do you service?
Most motor and gearbox brands. Send us the nameplate and we'll confirm.
How long does a repair take?
Small motors usually take 3–7 working days. Large motors and gearboxes usually take 1–3 weeks, depending on size and parts.
Do you use original or quality parts?
Quality parts only. We don't use cheap substitutes, and every job follows German engineering standards.
Will I get a report?
Yes. You get a report of what was damaged and what was done.
Do you take outsourced work from other repair shops?
Yes. We welcome rewinding and repair work from fellow repair shops.
Do you do piping work?
Yes. Besides motors and gearboxes, we also take on piping work. WhatsApp us the details and we'll let you know if we can help.
Repair or replace
Should I repair or replace my motor?
It depends on the size, condition and age of the motor. After inspection we tell you honestly which option is better value.
Can you supply and install a new motor?
Yes. If replacement is the better choice, we source a suitable unit, including from other brands that are often cheaper and just as durable, and install it.
Maintenance
Do you offer maintenance?
Yes. We check voltage, winding resistance and current, recommend bearing replacement for noisy motors, repair brakes, change gearbox oil and check inverter settings. One-off servicing is available, and regular schedules are welcome.
About the company
What is the relationship between WIU TECH and Serpina Enterprise?
They are two registered companies, both still active and run by the same team. Serpina Enterprise was founded in 1993, and the Serpina team founded WIU TECH Machinery & Services in 2015. Our director is Chua Kean Keong, known to customers as Alvin.
