Brake motor, clutch & variator repair
WIU TECH repairs AC geared brake motors, magnetic clutches, magnetic brakes and variators (variable speed drives) used in conveyors, hoists and production machinery. We're based in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur, with on-site inspection and pickup across KL, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. Inspection is free when you go ahead with the repair.

Signs of a brake or clutch problem
- The brake doesn't hold, or the load drifts after stopping
- The brake doesn't release, so the motor strains or overheats
- Clicking, grinding or burning smell from the brake
- The clutch slips or doesn't engage
- A variator doesn't hold or change speed smoothly

How we repair it

Inspect and diagnose
We check the brake or clutch, its coil and wear parts, and the motor.

Repair or replace worn parts
This includes linings, bearings and coils (rewound if needed), using quality parts only.

Adjust and test
Brake and clutch action is set and tested before return.

Report and return
You get a repair report, and we return the unit or reinstall it.
Can you repair the motor, brake and gearbox together?
Yes. Geared brake motors can be repaired as a complete unit.
Is a slipping brake dangerous?
On hoists, lifts and inclined conveyors, a brake that doesn't hold is a safety risk. Stop using the equipment and have it checked.
