Repair or replace? We'll tell you honestly.

Sometimes a repair isn't worth the money. When that's the case, we say so.

And a replacement doesn't have to be the same brand and model. We find motors from other brands that fit your machine, often cheaper and just as durable, then supply and install them for you.

How we decide

When repair usually makes sense

  • Larger motors and gearboxes, where a new unit is expensive
  • The housing, shaft and main parts are in good condition
  • The unit is hard to replace, because it's a special size, mounting or long lead time

When replacement usually makes sense

  • Small motors, where a new one costs about the same as a repair
  • Severe damage to the core, housing or shaft
  • The same unit keeps failing

Serpina Enterprise and WIU TECH Machinery & Services are both still active, and run by the same team. Our director, Chua Kean Keong, has led the business since 2000. Customers know him as Alvin.

    The late Chua Bee Ling founds Serpina Enterprise: car spare parts, piping and motor rewinding.

  2. 2000

    Machinery and piping services become the main business. Chua Kean Keong takes over.

  3. 2015

    The Serpina team founds WIU TECH, with a servicing approach based on German engineering SOPs.

  4. Today

    Both companies serve customers across Malaysia, with 30+ years of experience.

Do you charge for inspection?

Inspection is free if you go ahead with the repair. If you decide not to proceed, an inspection fee applies, depending on the size of the motor.

Where are you located? Do you come to us?

We're based in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur. We do on-site inspection and pickup across the Klang Valley (KL & Selangor) and Negeri Sembilan (Seremban and Nilai), and take jobs in every other state of Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak, on request.

Do you repair the motor on the spot?

We inspect on-site. Most repairs, especially rewinding a burnt motor, need proper equipment, so we take the motor back, repair and test it, then return it, and reinstall it if you need us to.

How long does a repair take?

Small motors usually take 3–7 working days. Large motors and gearboxes usually take 1–3 weeks, depending on size and parts.

Should I repair my motor or buy a new one?

It depends on the size, condition and age of the motor. After inspection we tell you honestly. If repair isn't worth it, we can supply a suitable replacement, including from other brands, and install it.
