Electric motor repair & overhaul
WIU TECH repairs and overhauls AC and DC electric motors from 0.18 HP to 2000 HP, as well as generators, transformers, traction DC motors, induction coils, reactors, lifting magnets, magnetic coils and high-tension equipment. We're based in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur, with on-site inspection and pickup across KL, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. Every job comes with a repair report, and inspection is free when you go ahead with the repair.

The motor is fully dismantled and cleaned.

This covers ball bearing replacement, bearing cover re-machining and mechanical shaft seal replacement, using quality parts only.

Dynamic balancing and shaft metallising are done with trusted specialist partners.

Reassemble and test run
The motor is tested before it leaves us.

You get a detailed repair report, and we return the motor or reinstall it.
How much does a motor repair cost?
It depends on the motor's size, type and what's damaged. WhatsApp us a photo of the nameplate for a first estimate. You'll get an exact quote after inspection.
What's the difference between a repair and an overhaul?
A repair fixes the fault that stopped the motor. An overhaul goes further: the motor is fully stripped, worn parts are renewed and it's tested, which extends its working life.
Do you repair generators and transformers too?
Yes, along with traction DC motors, induction coils, reactors, lifting magnets, magnetic coils and high-tension equipment.
Is it worth repairing an old motor?
Often, yes, especially for larger motors. After inspection we tell you honestly if a replacement is better value. See: Repair or replace?
